Three of my tracks will available for purchase on the soon to be released Time Creeps EP. The EP features Time Creeps; a slow churning disco/funk space experience, Seed; a classic acid housey bass builder and Movin’ Now; a bouncy house hustle in the vein of of the early Sonar Kollectiv sound but with an updated electronic sound.

The first MIXED MESSAGES party, A DISCO LOVE STORY, inspired by my mix will be happening at The Drake Underground, in Toronto on Thursday, May 7th. The details of when it starts are still TBD as there may be bands before hand.

DJ Vaneska will be opening with a stylish set of disco, house, 80’s/90’s and youth tunes set to some classic disco photos.

Then comes the party photography of Zach – TAKE MORE PHOTOS – Slootsky VJ’d by Jackie – videocake – Brown, and set to the music of yours truly. As a special bonus, Arowbe Arowbe Arowbe (TIMES NEUE ROMAN) will be doing narration of the story throughout the set.

I will be doing a gig at The Alex P. Keaton tomorrow with my friends Times Neue Roman, Rod Skimmins and DJ Mensa. It should be an excellent show as we’re planning on doing live mash-ups and figuring in a lot of different styles throughout the show.

A Disco Love Story update

So I am attempting to team up with a fantastic photographer from Toronto, Zach “Take More Photos” Slootsky. Initially, I wanted to do a comic themed insert for this mix to accompany the CD version when I realised that many of the “scenes” take place in a club setting. Zach takes tonnes of great party shots so I have asked him if we can work together. Here’s hoping… more updates to come.

By the way, I’ve made an MP3 version of the mix now for those not in to iTunes.

I wanted to give a big shout out to The Gang of Two for their new blog. I know that AndyCapp has been very busy updating the categories to span their musical influences in great internet detail. If you have the time, I recommend checking out the resource for a wide variety of info. on bands from A Certain Ratio to Was (not) Was to artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Currently, they just have track listings for their mix CDs but no word on whether they will be offered for download.

Regardless, a great read from some of Toronto’s finest. Don’t be fooled by the pic
